Dronley Wood All Abilities Path

Overview

Creating a 750M all-abilities path with a picnic area and 5 lay-bys (equipped with bench seating) at Dronley Community Woodland, with a large information board and a new access gate in the car park at the entrance to the path and three information lecterns each installed in different parts of the wood.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

Getting the path opened and built to a very high standard, with excellent drainage, has been a great achievement. Having the grade of ‘easy’ according to Paths For All’s standard has been a significant achievement as well.

How has your project benefited your local area?

The project has done wonders as well over 100 people use the woods most days which is probably about double the number of people who were accessing it before the project.

What has been your biggest challenge?

There were some early delays in the project as a forrester was required to clear some trees but the biggest challenge has been getting the work done with the COVID restrictions halting and delaying work.
